MAHDIEH MOHAMMADKHANI


Mahdieh Mohammadkhani was born in 1986 in Tehran, Iran and started learning music at a young age by playing the piano. She holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Azad University. In 2009, Mahdieh began studying Iranian song and Radif (in the style of Taherzadeh) under the tutelage of Gholamreza Rezaie, a prominent student of master Mohammadreza Shajarian. In 2012, she was accepted into Master Shajarian's master classes and had the opportunity to learn from the master personally.

Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with some of the most skilled and well-known Iranian musicians, such as Hamid Motebassem, Hossein Behroozinia, Saeed Farajpouri, Pejman Haddadi, Behnam Samani, Mazda Ansari, Behzad Abdi and Majid Derakhshani, to name a few. Mahdieh has performed as a solo artist in several European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada and Australia with various ensembles such as "Mâh", "Dastân" and "Tar-o-Pood".

She released her first album "Darya Del" composed and arranged by Majid Derakhshani in 2013, "A Window" composed by Hamid Motebassem in 2015, "In the Cradle of the Moon" composed and arranged by Mazda Ansari in 2016, and "Tar-o- Pood" composed by Hamid Motebassem in 2017.
